Paw Patrol: The Movie

Title Treatments

When the first Paw Patrol Movie came out XYi was tasked with developing and localising title treatments for the 35+ markets that it was releasing in.

I was the go-to person, running this project from beginning to end:

  • Building the line art in Illustrator from a flat JPEG image
  • Producing the localised markets which match the OV version
  • Tasking our Motion department to 3D render each part of the elements
  • Handing over to our Retouchers to deal with the finishing touches (an area I helped out with)

Making the Line Art

1. Separating each of the elements out for easier localisation

2. Developing an Alphabet for the main "Paw" letters

Custom alphabet developed for the "Paw" lettering

3. Replacing "Patrol" with a live font for localising, and adding an "Arc" to it.

4. Creating an invisible 3D donut to attach "The Movie" part to

3D donut shape created in Illustrator to hold “The Movie” text
Created the donut using Illustrator’s 3D tools.
“The Movie” text mapped onto the 3D donut symbol
Then mapped the "The Movie" text to the donut, by making it a symbol.
